ABOUT ME

As an integrative psychotherapist, Seana combines distinctive expertise in psychological and emotional health, with a  background in sport and bodywork. Having worked as a hospice medical social worker, Seana's specialty is helping people navigate transition and emerge from challenge into alignment. She is trained in grief counseling and has led regular bereavement support groups. In addition, she is trained by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to facilitate support groups for individuals who have lost loved ones to suicide, and is an advanced certified hospice and palliative social worker through the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

As a two time Women's Marathon Olympic Trials qualifier (2004 and 2008) and winner of the 2003 Philadelphia Marathon, Seana specializes in women in sport and the unique challenges present for the female athlete, including issues with body image, the Female Athlete Triad, and overcoming mental and emotional blocks to success in sport. Drawing on sports psychology and cognitive behavioral therapy, Seana helps the female athlete actualize her fullest potential and heal imbalances that are getting in the way of success. She has written a book (currently under review) with her identical twin sister that teaches how to access a place of self-love and acceptance using the unqiue skill set of the female athelete. Having coached track and cross-country at a collegiate level, Seana employs her experience to help the female athlete use the medium of sport for personal growth, and fundamentally, to honor the female body.

Drawing on her decade long private practice as a sports massage therapist and Reiki Master, Seana's focus in psychotherapy is holistic. She encourages healing on all levels of being for a life of balance and fulfillment. Seana's calling is to help people to grow and develop spiritually. As a psychotherapist who employs a strengths-based approach, she helps individuals to uncover that which is their birth right; to arrive at a place of self-love. She has a private practice in Newburyport, MA.
